The loose ring is a standard cheekpiece. This cheekppiece has loose rings which allow the bit to move more freely in the mouth, so many horses accept this bit well. Because the rings move freely, aids come through less directly than, for example, with an Eggbutt. To prevent skin from getting between the moving rings, it is advisable to provide the bit with bit rings.
