A closed martingale fork – also known as a bib martingale attachment – helps prevent the horse from grabbing the martingale fork with its mouth or from getting the reins over its head. Thanks to the closed design, the reins stay better in place and a more stable and controlled contact with the horse is supported. This makes a bib martingale particularly popular with show jumping and eventing riders.
