The 2.5 ring eggbutt is a more gentle version of a 3 ring (pessoa) bit. With this jawpiece, leverage can be created. The lower the reins are placed, the stricter the bit becomes. An ideal bit for horses that are very strong in the course, grasping the bit or walking through the hand. The eggbutt cheekpiece cannot move loosely and therefore the help of the hand acts more directly.
